SOBER MARCH
At the start of March I set myself a personal challenge of giving up booze for the month and hoped to raise some cash-money along the way š° At the time I thought "YIKES! I might not make it past a few days, given how often I found myself turning to a glass of vino to cope with stressful days or feeling sad about the world.
However, here I am a month later and still booze-free! YAY! That's down to the wonderful support, donations and cheerleading from lovely friends and family along the way so THANK YOU! Not only have I smashed my fundraising target but I've lost 2.7kg, which I totally didn't expect but am pretty bloody chuffed about š
Over the month I tried a different soft drink or AF alternative every day and it made the challenge so much fun as I treated the drinks like an advent calendar so I had something new to look forward to every day. These are just a few of my favouritesā¦
I also shared an āEar-wormā each day too and by the end of the month had a pretty fun (and rater random play list to look back on and listen to. You can listen to HERE.
I'm not going to lie, I am planning to have a cheeky alcoholic beverage or two with friends in the garden this evening but after taking a closer look at my relationship with booze this past month, I have made myself some promises in regards to my drinking habits š·š
I'm going to continue reading through The Sober Girls Society handbook to help keep me accountable too!
Anyway, I just wanted to document this here as itās been a great month and made me realise a lot about myself and my habits. Iād like to think I can keep up the healthier drinking promises Iāve made but time will tellā¦ Maybe Iāll do a little check in later this year, in like 6 months or somethingā¦
In the meantime though, THANK YOU ALL AGAIN! I smashed my fundraising target, had a lot of fun and received some top notch support - you are all bloody excellent! š
