HELLO SUNSHINE

hello OCTOBER + NOVEMBER

Ooft! Where did the last couple of months go? It’s been pretty none stop since we got back from Scotland, what with Christmas creeping closer so I fell behind again with my blogging! Oops!

Anywho, I’m here now and that’s what matters so here’s a whooper of a round up featuring some of the work, play and food shaped things that have popped up during October and November!

October

work

I’ve been in full on Christmas mode now for a couple of months and I feel like I never share any of my work as I charge through the weeks. Mostly it’s because I’m scared of ruining someone’s Christmas gift or surprises my lovely customers may be planning but also it’s because time always whizzes by!

Another AMAZING shot from my Christmas shoot with Holly Booth Photography.

It’s been ace to see so many hilarious jumper requests coming through again this year though and I genuinely look forward to opening order books every year. I mean, this one absolutely floored me and you can see many more if you check out the #hellosunshinechristmasjumper hashtag on Instagram too.

Spanking requests this year for the #HelloSunshineChristmasJumper gang!

wholesale

Despite shops being closed, then open, then closed, then online, then open and everything in between lately, I’ve been lucky enough to still get some wholesale orders from my wonderful existing stockists and a couple of newbies. So there has been a lot of lining up and frantic making in the studio lately too!

Line ‘em up!

Online markets & Portraits

I also had my first festive online markets in October and opened up books for 10 minute Portraits again so it was a busy old time for me and the Sunshine shop!

A lovely 10min portrait from earlier this year (a surprise I know I’m not going to ruin!)

play

Paddle time at home

Shock, horror! I got out on my board again quite a lot this month! Despite the noticeably shorter days and definite chill in the air, it’s still the best medicine and only way I’ve found I can calm my frantic brain during these busy times!

A bit of calm in the mornings.

Pretending I’m still on holiday with Tatty Scones

workin’ it out

After over a month off due to gashgate and holidays, it was nice to be back to workouts with the TK FitFam again, even if we are confined to little boxes on the floor to keep us all safe.

Nice to get my gash back in the box this week 📦😆🚧🏋️‍♀️

It’s been really nice to get back to my spin classes with Claire again too - my legs still haven’t forgiven me!

You spin me right round…

food

From Burgers and fine dining to towering yorkshire puds and halloween faves, it’s been another cracking month for food, in my opinion!

Steak and Honour smashing it as usual with their ‘Plant Mitchell’ Burger.

Yorkies for DAAAAAAYS!

Monster mash and Halloweenies 👻 6, maybe 7 years on and this meal never gets old 😬

Another spooky tradition I’ll never drop... Halloween Pies 🥧

Pie 🥧 Wine 🍷 My favourite spooky film 🧛🏻‍♀️ Hello Halloween!

November

And just like that we’re into the next month! YIKES!

work

Festive online markets were in full swing this month with both Crafty Fox Market and Indie Roller Mini Markets so I was busy hopping in and out of Buddy as well as setting up my stall in the Sunshine Studio, which was a lot of fun!

Painting Portraits back in Buddy, with my littler helper!

The Sunshine stall all set up in the studio, ready for virtual markets

The new Christmas Pudding enamel studs and snowflake pins I launched have been going down a treat this month too!

Christmas Pudding enamel earrings - so tiny!

More teeny tiny newbies - the snowflake pins!

The Personalised Christmas Jumper orders have still been coming in thick and fast ...

I think I should have ordered myself this one!

Which means I have been giggling almost daily at some of the requests… fear not though, some of them are nice, honest!

Naughty and nice!

play

so much SUP

Despite being busier than ever, I’m also quite proud of myself for taking the time to chill out and do the things I know make me happy and help to reset my brain. Paddling being one of them… if you hadn’t guessed already!

Thanks for the snap and making me look way cooler than I actually am @baxter_blacklab_adventures 😝

Trying my best to be a part time model for @hellohellododo 🐤🐛💛

Dark. Windy. Fast Flowing. Worth it!

Thanks for the giggles and action shots along The Backs @cyclesandsatchels 🤗

The chalk pits

One weekend, we decided to take Rei somewhere new and headed to The Chalk Pits in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge. They are oddly beautiful and other worldly, it felt like we’d walked into another country entirely and I’m really not sure how it’s taken me so long to venture out to them when they’re pretty much on the doorstep!

“These two chalk quarries once provided hard chalk to build Cambridge University colleges and lime for cement.”

“Today they support a variety of habitats that harbour some rare plants and insects.”

Happy Birthday Rei

I can’t believe it but this mental little pup turned one in November! I can’t get my head around how teeny-tiny she was when we first went to meet her - look at that little fizzog!

Look how small and funny looking she was!

She obviously had cake to celebrate and destroyed it within seconds!

Literally lasted 20 seconds…

I’m so unbelievably proud of this pooch, she breaks me every single day with her stubbornness and high pitched yaps when she wants attention but she is the happiest, smartest little bean and has now learned to give the best cuddles in the morning (yes, I bullied her into it!)

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY, REI!

food

Another good month on the food front, some excellent take aways from our fave local indies and a couple more ‘homemade’ delights!

A working lunch

A floating lunch (thanks Five Guys!)

A grown up lunch!

Having a bash at vegan burgers!

Homemade Mac ‘n’ Cheese!

T’is the season to be mulled!

Yup! Another Steak & Honour… #sorrynotsorry!

NACHOOOOO! Yes, I only bought them because they’re star shaped and festive 🙄

Port and Pizza from Scott’s All Day!

Crikey, I’m hungry after finishing this post! I hope you enjoyed another round up of happies from this crazy but sunny little corner of the internet, there’s certainly been a lot going on despite the world feeling like it’s standing still during these lock downs again.

I hope you’re all managing to stay safe, sane and keep smiling through the ups and downs of 2020 and until the next round up…. I raise my tin cup to you and wish you all Happiness and Health!
