HYROX DONE!

Lessons, Blisters & an Emotional Rollercoaster 🎢

Well… I fuckin’ did it. And what a ride it was. From blisters on run one (cheers, Glasgow adventure!) to calf cramp, hamstring hell, and a seven-minute penalty for my expert sheep skills, Hyrox was everything I expected - and a bazllion things I didn’t.

Things I Learned the Hard Way:

💦 Hydration is a full-time job. (And results in a million bathroom breaks.)

💩 Nervous poos are real. No further comment.

🐑 Don’t be a sheep. Blindly following others = penalty city.

🏃‍♀️ Running sucks. The end.

🛷 Sled push might be my fave?! Who saw that coming?!

🏋️‍♀️ Proud of my sled pulls and wall balls. Those bad boys got done.

🚣‍♀️ Ski, farmers carry, and row felt steady. Small wins!

🦵 Lunges blew up my legs. RIP hammies.

⚡ I need to work on speed. And not just my ability to bolt to the loo.

🥹 Blisters are shit but didn’t stop me. Stubbornness got me through.

🤝 Support from fellow Roxstars is everything. People really are amazing.

🕺 Dancing mid-lunges helps. Fact.

💪 My body is incredible for putting up with my bullshit. But my brain? She needs to shut up and let me thrive.

🎢 Hyrox is an emotional rollercoaster. One minute, I’m buzzing. The next, my legs are telling me to get in the bin.

The Best & Worst Bits Best:

best: Sled push, finishing, feeling like an absolute badass (in between breakdowns).

worst: Running, calf cramp, hamstring hell… and the creeping shame of how I look in race photos.

That last bit? That’s a whole separate brain gremlin I need to work on. But you know what? I still did the damn thing. And I’ve smashed my £500 fundraising goal for Macmillan! (If you're feeling generous/impressed/sorry for my feet, there’s still time to use the link below 😉)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

For all your donations and kind messages of support (and odd comment about me being bonkers, because fair point!) it all kept me going, even when my blister pals rocked up and legs felt like they might drop off!

🧡 XXXL thanks to @jez_sax @saxonfitness for putting up with my bullshit and making me believe I could do it!

💚 To the lovely @macmillancancer team who put ribbons in my hair and made my heart feel fit to burst!

❤️ To every Hyroxstar who tapped me on the shoulder, cheered in my ear and kept me moving when I was deep in the pain cave!

💛 and to @slygirlnz @phiadunc for the post race curry, comfy slippers and ‘compuseeds’ Loved seeing you both again

OK, emotional gushing over… I need another wee!

🏃‍♀️
