Anyone who says black cats are unlucky has never met our Toby Cat!

Did you know that most of the pieces I design and make have a little story behind them?

I thought it might be fun to share some of them with you all. Although they aren’t quite bedtime story material, hopefully you’ll enjoy a little insight into some of the Sunshine you see pop up on t’interwebs!

First up, and possibly the most popular of the kitties, is the Black Cat collection (sorry Pegs!) Inspired by my very own house panther, these black cats are based on the one and only Toby Cat of Sunshine Towers. A professional napper, class-A pain in the bum and top notch snuggler, Toby Cat is the purrfect studio assistant and is very proud to have his own collection of sunshine!

It’s spooky season!

Considering I’m posting this in the month of all things SPOOKY (and it just so happens to be Toby Cat’s favourite month!) I figured it was as good a time as any to show off the OG black cat. Happy Halloween folks!

You’ve probably guessed it by now, but this whole collection is based entirely on his lord highness, AKA Tubs, Tobertron, Tubby Cat. It remains to this day one of my favourite collections and one of the most popular!

Black cats certainly do not deserve the bad rap that they get, Toby is the best familiar that a witch could ever ask for. (Sorry Pegs)
