Feral february

a Reflective 5mins

Before February fucks off as fast as it arrived! It’s such a short month but somehow it still manages to feel full. And long.

And gone in five minutes.

There was a lot of mud.

So much mud. Happy muddy stomps with Rei that left my trainers ruined but my head clearer. I don’t think I’ll ever stop being amazed at what fresh air and a daft dog can fix, even temporarily.

There was movement.

Not in a “new year, new me” way. Just in a “keep showing up, Jo” way. Daily 5k walks - with or without the wolf. Spicy stretches at Saxon even though I can’t go as regularly as I once did. Yoga with Adrienne Benji and Rei. Running with Squrriels (more on that another time!) 🐿️ I moved my body because it helps. Because I need it. Because I’m trying to rebuild trust with myself.

There was good food

- there’s always good food 😉 A Rustic Kitchen roast that deserved a round of applause. Cheese as a love language. Toastie-heavy mobile office days where Hello Sunshine admin happened in between staring into space and sending voice notes to friends. There were gigs with my niece (Punk Rock Factory and the joy of shouting lyrics with a room full of other ageing emos) 🤘🏻

Happy Face Fridays

Down time down at the Cove enjoying sauna and cold plunges. Cat caves and cuddles with Toby. Dog sitting sharks and cheating on Rei for a couple of hours 🦈 Blue skies in Beeston that felt like a small miracle. And Wild Sauna host and first aid training which has me all kinds of nervous and excited for future freelancing!

There was also nonsense.

A&E trips. Minor head bumps. Blockages. Farts and tears 💨 The glamorous bits nobody puts in a highlight reel.

But here’s the thing I keep coming back to: I laughed a lot. I dealt with some stuff. I kept going.

And right now, that feels like enough

💛
